Perkembangan teknologi yang semakin maju memberikan dampak baik untuk dunia pertanian.<\/p>\n<p>Pasalnya, sistem teknologi ini dapat membuat dunia pertanian menjadi lebih asyik dan mudah. Inilah yang dilakukan oleh Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Samarinda, Kalimantan Timur.<\/p>\n<p>Tim yang terdiri atas dosen dan mahasiswa Jurusan Teknik Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak (TRPL) Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Samarinda, telah membuat aplikasi <em>smart farming<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Tujuan utama pembuatan aplikasi ini, adalah untuk mengatasi inflasi yang cukup berat di dunia pertanian Kalimantan Timur.<\/p>\n<p>Mengutip dari situs Vokasi Kemdikbud, pada tahun 2022 dunia pertanian di Kalimantan Timur dilanda inflasi yang cukup berat terutama pada komoditas cabai.<\/p>\n<p>Demi mengatasi inflasi tersebut, Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Samarinda bekerja sama dengan Bank Indonesia (BI) untuk melakukan <em>smart farming<\/em>. <em>Smart farming<\/em> merupakan cara baru untuk meningkatkan produksi dan efisiensi pertanian, khususnya pada tanaman cabai.<\/p>\n<p>Dosen Jurusan TRPL Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Samarinda Imron menuturkan, <em>smart farming<\/em> adalah suatu sistem pertanian yang terintegrasi dan menggunakan teknologi digital untuk memperbaiki proses produksi dan meminimalkan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan.<\/p>\n<p>Melalui sistem <em>smart farming<\/em>, petani dapat mengambil keputusan yang lebih cerdas berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari sensor dan perangkat lunak pengelolaan data.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cData ini dapat membantu petani dalam memantau dan memprediksi kondisi tanaman, mengoptimalkan penggunaan sumber daya seperti air, pupuk, pestisida, serta memperbaiki kinerja produksi secara keseluruhan,\u201d ujar Imron dikutip dalam keterangannya, Kamis (5\/10).<\/p>\n<p>Aplikasi ini dibuat dengan beberapa tahap, mulai dari identifikasi masalah hingga penyusunan dokumentasi penggunaan hardware dan aplikasi.<\/p>\n<p>Aplikasi <em>smart farming<\/em> sendiri memiliki beberapa manfaat. Di antaranya adalah mempercepat proses operasional pemantauan kebun dan irigasi air, mempermudah pengumpulan nilai data dalam memantau kondisi tanaman, dan meningkatkan kemampuan petani dalam efisiensi perkebunan.<\/p>\n<p>Saat ini, aplikasi <em>smart farming<\/em> telah digunakan oleh kelompok tani Loa Tebu, Kutai Kartanegara, Kalimantan Timur.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPara petani bisa mengontrol operasional jadi waktu yang digunakan pun lebih efisien. Mereka tidak perlu naik-turun bukit untuk mengambil air karena persediaan habis.
